Emma Emodi
Founder of Studio Emodi, a Lagos-based interior architecture and design practice. With an academic foundation in civil engineering and further training in interior architecture across Italy, her work sits at the intersection of technical precision and spatial storytelling.
Driven by an early sensitivity to how space shapes experience, Emma established Studio Emodi in 2019 with a focus on creating thoughtful, well-executed environments. Her approach balances concept and practicality, informed by both global design standards and the realities of building within Nigeria.
Today, she leads a growing, deliberately lean studio, focused on delivering high-quality work, refining process, and contributing to a more considered vision of contemporary design in Nigeria.

Founder and CEO of The 1897, a multidisciplinary cultural agency comprising The 1897 Advisory and The 1897 Gallery.
Through the Advisory, she works with private collectors, corporations, and institutions to build intellectually rigorous and strategically positioned collections. Through the Gallery, a nomadic curatorial platform, she develops exhibitions across global contexts that expand critical discourse and strengthen the visibility and positioning of Black and African artists within international markets.
Sosa Omorogbe is an art advisor, curator, and cultural strategist working across modern and contemporary art, specialising in African and diasporic practices.
